Loss

tree and flower

This one was reborn from the “ashes” of another painting. The result of painting without an idea of the final outcome is often a gem in the rough. Here it is. Refined in my opinion. I have been enjoying the nicole series for what it has evolved from a surreal kneeling dogwood to this and others in this level of style for a lack of better critic vocabulary. I liked the grass from the other painting in the series with grass, so I thought I would add it here. It’s a lovely addition. Definitely softens what else is high contrast.
